To all who support our seminarians and Vocations Office,

We reached our goal for iGiveCatholic 2022!  We are so grateful and so humbled by our donor's generosity.  Thank you, thank you, dear generous friends.

Through the generosity of our donors, we will be able to furnish our chapel here at St Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation in Thibodaux!

As many of you know, St Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation, located in our diocese, will be home for most of our seminarians during their first year of priestly formation.  Their time here at St Joseph's will be focused on the Propaedeutic Stage of their journey, which will focus on human and spiritual formation.  This year (2022-2023), St Joseph's houses 3 of our seminarians: Chad Cheramie, Wayne Romero, and Ethan Henry.

In our house of formation is a beautiful, simple chapel.  This is where we celebrate Mass daily, as well as pray Liturgy of the Hours, and our personal prayer. Our hope has been to be able to furnish it soon, and now that hope will be realized!  Funds raised will go to the following:

      • Chapel Candles | Altar Candlesticks, Processional Candle Poles, Altar Candles, Processional Candles, Sanctuary Candle Stand, Advent Candles, Candle Oil, and more.
      • Liturgical Books | Roman Missal, Book of the Gospels, Sunday and Weekday Lectionaries, and more.
      • Chapel Furnishings | Altar Cross, Processional Cross, Ambo, Holy Water Font, Cruets, Bells, Censer, and more.
      • Sacred Art | Canvases of Sacred Art from Catholic history and today.

These furnishings will be a great blessing to our seminarians throughout the years as they pray, discern, and prepare for diocesan priesthood in this chapel.

To learn more about our house of formation, visit our St Joseph the Worker webpage.  To learn more about the Propaedeutic Stage and an overview of seminarian formation, visit our Seminarian Formation webpage.

With humility and gratitude, we sincerely thank our donors,

      - Fr Mitch Semar, Vocations Director
